Rachel Zirkin Duda is an award-winning author, speaker, and the founder of Learning Each Other's Language™, a project devoted to helping people communicate across differences in neurotype, trauma, relationships, and lived experience.

Her work grew from her own experience raising an autistic son while unknowingly navigating her own autism, ADHD, and complex PTSD. For years, Rachel and her son loved each other deeply but often misunderstood one another's words, behavior, and intentions. What one of them experienced as care, the other might experience as pressure. What looked like defiance could be overwhelm. What sounded like anger might be fear, confusion, or an urgent attempt to communicate a need neither of them yet knew how to name.

Those experiences became the foundation of Rachel’s memoir, Mending Together, Building Together, and later inspired the broader vision for Learning Each Other’s Language™.

Rachel writes about the space between intention and impact, the meanings hidden beneath behavior, and the difficult but transformative work of repairing relationships without assigning one person the role of villain. Her approach is rooted in curiosity, respect, honesty, and the belief that meaningful communication does not require people to think, feel, or experience the world in the same way.

Through books, essays, conversations, workshops, and practical resources, Rachel helps families, partners, and individuals move beyond control and compliance toward a deeper form of connection – one built by learning how another person experiences the world.

Her guiding belief

"You don't have to love someone to respect their personhood."
